I just figured out why my photos are all blue - especially those taken outside. Someone changed the white balance settings on my camera. Oh well, sorry that life seems so BLUE in my pictures. This one is from work -- a new hole in the wall! How did it get there? I don't know, but it sure looks like a car must have come through the plants on the other side and knocked the bricks out of place and broke the fence. Bad day for the fence. I also saw I car parked up close to a bridge stanchion on the way to work yesterday. Parked so close, in fact, that the front end of the car appeared to sort of wrap around the stanchion. And, to get there, the car had to jump a curb, go through a bollard, and slide across 50 feet of grass. Must be the spring fever in the air causing drivers to look out the window -- but not the windshield! School is over for the evening! Kind of a late school night.

I don't want you to think that the only excitement we had today was cutting up a dead tree. We also worked on cleaning out the kitchen drain. It drains VERY slowly. Even after spending an hour running a hose up the drain under the house and trying to flush it out. There is a huge clog of soap/guck/other stuff in the drain that I guess I need a snake or rotary cutter to get out. I managed to break some chunks of it off, as you can see in the picture, but there is more up in there. It is about 10 feet under the house to the clog. Ugh.

The small tree in front of our house had not shown life yet this spring, so I pushed on it to see if it was dead or alive. It fell over. I guess that means it was dead, and probably had been for a long time. So, I have the boys out disassembling the tree into smaller pieces so we can burn them in a garden bonfire. And, new neighbors are moving in across the driveway today, so we had to get the pieces out of their driveway. As you can tell, there is much excitement around here today.

I had Friday off because Easter is today. Tomorrow is also a holiday in England. We took advantage of the days off to visit Dover Castle, Walmer Castle, Stonehenge, Lacock Village and Abbey, and a Roman villa in the Cotswolds. Today was Easter Sunday, with a baptism at the Parish communion service, and then helping make scalloped potatoes, broiled chicken, bread, and salad for lunch/dinner. That was about it for the day. Oh, except it was my day to clean the kitchen -- fun scraping off all the baked-on potato goo.
