When I arrived back in the UK there was a huge spider in the rubbish bin in the cloakroom. A bit later I saw another of these nasty beasts trotting through the house. Not wanting the rubbish bin spider to be lonely, I deposited the new spider in with other one. When the children got home they continued the practice. We now have quite a supply of spiders in the bin -- only they seem to kill each other on a regular basis. We actually got to see two of them fighting one night. Wow! Only, Joyce won't use the downstairs bathroom anymore, and it is starting to smell something awful. So, I guess it might be time to empty the bin.

Today after church there was picnic in the garden at the vicarage. Since rain was not forecast for today, it was a veritable certainty that it would. True to the "stiff upper lip" stereotype, most braved the "highland fog" even though it watered down the wine a bit. I only had my Palm with me, but if you want to see the photos I took click the small image to the left.

Spent last night on a 757 riding across the Atlantic. Not something I recommend. I was initially assigned an aisle seat, but decided I would rather have a window so people did not reach and walk across me all night for food and bathroom. The gate agent was very nice and got me a seat with no one sitting next to me. The only bad thing was she gave me the row in front of the emergency exits, so my seat did not recline. Oh well, win a few, lose few. I did get quite a bit of sleep, though I am certainly ready for bed again now. After I find my bed under all the stuff from the suitcases...

I turned 40 today. Ouch. Last night I shaved my head to celebrate. Or, to be weird. Or, something. When I get a picture of the chrome dome I will be sure to post. Now, my plan is to let it grow without cutting it for a year. Will I make it? I doubt it.
