Today, Mom, Philip and I drove up to Wantage to visit with the Lozada family. They were friends of ours in Peru, and now most of the family lives here in England. The patriarch of the family, Ernesto, died a week ago, and we went to visit, reminesce, and condole a little. It was a nice visit. You can see the pictures I took by clicking on the small image to the right.

Joyce and I spent a nice, looong, weekend in Dublin. We arrived there on Thursday morning and left this (Monday) morning, giving us four full days of walking, standing, looking, walking, standing, wishing we were sitting... . We did get to sit on busses a bit since we bought a bus pass for the five days we were there. Only, today is a holiday in Ireland and the busses were not running early enough this morning to take us to the airport, so we had to get a taxi. We visited two of national museums, Christ Church and St. Patrick's Cathedral, the Guiness Storehouse and Museum (what an interesting impact Guiness has had on the history of Dublin), a cemetery, several pubs (mostly to eat, but here is a link for a small video clip of some live music in one of the pubs we walked by), and, probably a few other things. Oh, yes, check out Joyce's blog for her descriptions of our visit to Kilmainham Gaol (did you know that is pronounced "jail"?) and Trinity College. For additional pictures of the Dublin trip just give the small image of Molly Malone a click.

I took John, Philip, and Cara to the park today for some "mandatory fun." We went two weeks ago and played some two-on-two football. Today was two-on-two soccer on a small court. It was fun, though Cara took a couple of cheap shots, and Philip's foot started hurting. The rest of us were (and still are?) hurting a little bit all over -- especially the legs -- since we are not used to such exercise.
