The Christmas season is in full swing here. We've been to several Christmas caroling events, and today is Christingle, midnight mass, and two parties in between. Tomorrow morning we also have to sing at the Christmas morning mass.

I ended up with four work-related Christmas dinners to attend this year. Unfortunately, I had a late negotiating session with one of our vendors and ended up missing one of them. However, last night was the last of the dinners. The problem was the arrangements were made by someone else who, at the last minute, was not able to attend, and so I ended up being responsible for hosting the event. Only, I couldn't find the place. Or, so I thought. It turned out I had been given the wrong name for the restaurant. After a phone call to clear up this misunderstanding, I finally found the restaurant and the pub next door where we were meeting before going to the restaurant. The pub was very smokey and not very posh; therefore, I was surprised to see Kris Marshall (from Love Actually) there, and even more surprised that I actually recognized him. Normally in such situations I have to be told afterwards who it was that I didn't even notice. I tried to surreptitiously take his photo with my Palm to show the kids when I got home, but poor lighting and other people managed to thwart my efforts. So, just imagine that the grainy picture of the person on the left is he (it really is). The rest of the evening involved good Chinese food and lots of smoke. I was able to experience first hand second-hand smoke from Lithuanian, German, and English cigarettes. The smell was so strong I had to strip off all my clothes and shower when I got home so I could sleep.

Four months, two inches, looking funny around the ears, and starting to stick up in the back where my cowlick is. Gonna have to start parting it differently, I think. I don't feel too bad about it all, yet. Maybe, if I can make it to Christmas, by the time I go back to work in January it will be beyond awkward and look okay. Maybe. Click on picture for past photos.
