Another interesting day at work. Our job site has been picketed again. At first we thought it was the electricians' union, but once it was light enough to see we went back and read the signs. Today is the local millwright union. With a letter to the governor of Pennsylvania earlier this week, the trade unions have been busy here in the local area. It does keep life interesting.

Another archive photo. This is my son with an Internet acquaintence that he met in person for the first time while we were visiting Austin this summer. I guess the equivalent for my generation is meeting a pen pal for the first time, but it seems to me the big difference today is that the percentage of friends that are Internet-only friends is much greater than pen pal friends were in the past. Speaking to the parents of my son's friends they have admitted they have the same sense of uneasiness about this presumably new phenomenum. No bad experiences to report yet, though.

Here is a photo from the archives. This picture was taken almost a year ago while preparing to depart from England. We had our two pet rats Caran and Cho to the vet for a health check so we could have them shipped to the US. You can see the shipping crate in Philip's lap. In the end, the airline bureaucracy won the battle and we gave the crate and rats away to locals. Well, not to very local locals -- the rats went to northern Wales, but the crate stayed in Berkshire.

My family has finally forced me to do it. I only blame them. Take a look at my tp page. I will keep adding to it as time permits, but hopefully it won't permit much.

After months -- literally months -- of having several old pictures sitting on my desk, I finally got around to scanning them into the computer tonight. This one of my brother and me is one of my favorite pictures, and I am glad to have it. Now to file the original pictures and move on to the next project.
