Fixing things

Seems like what I enjoy is fixing things, though it can be very frustrating when the "fixin" isn't successful. Philip, John, and I spent about 8 hours on Saturday putting a new tie rod (inner and outer) on the Prizm, along with new control arm bushings. To replace the bushing on the left side we had to disconnect the motor from the motor mounts and lift the engine a couple of inches, and at the same time drop the lower cross member. As most of these tasks go, it would take half as long to do it again, but we probably never will.

Today I took my desk lamp apart and fixed the switch. Only, I am pretty sure that it is only a temporary fix. Well, I am very sure it is temporary, I just suspect that in this case temporary is closer to a week than 10 or 20 years. A temporary fix that lasts for a decade or two is a good fix in most cases.
